Why volunteer at Essence?

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and support the work we do at Essence.

Who can volunteer?

Almost anyone over the age of 16 can be a volunteer.

What kind of volunteer are we looking for?

We are looking for reliable people who enjoy a hands-on approach to working with people with a mild to moderate dementia.

We have a weekly activity timetable at the Essence Centre and our outreaches that volunteers can provided support with. 

 

Dial A Driver Service

Our Dial A Driver service provides Door to Door transport for the older people of Sunderland which promotes independence, and helps to prevent loneliness and isolation. for more information please see our leaflet below:

How much time do you need to give?

Some people give an hour a week, other people do more.
